Evaluations
A Whole-Body Approach to Oral Motor Skill Development
Every child is unique—and so is their evaluation.
Our comprehensive assessments go beyond just looking at the mouth. We take a whole-body approach to understanding your child’s oral motor development, considering the many interconnected systems that influence function and growth.
During the evaluation, we assess:
Primitive Reflexes – to identify retained reflexes that may impact motor patterns, feeding, and focus
Sleep-Disordered Breathing – including mouth breathing, snoring, or restlessness during sleep
Feeding Habits – from picky eating to chewing difficulties and oral sensory challenges
Orofacial Structures & Function – including tongue mobility, lip seal, jaw stability, and oral coordination
Body Tension & Alignment – evaluating postural imbalances and fascial restrictions that may be impacting oral motor skills
You’ll receive a detailed report of our findings, personalized recommendations, and referrals if needed. Most importantly, we’ll walk through everything together, so you feel confident and supported in the next steps.
Our Approach to Therapy
Compassionate. Functional. Rooted in Connection.
We take a whole-body, individualized approach to therapy—looking beyond the symptoms to uncover the why. Every child brings a unique story, and we focus on understanding the connections between the mouth, body, and brain to support long-term growth and development.
Therapy sessions are hands-on, and tailored to your child’s needs. I blend oral motor work, body-based techniques, and functional exercises to support lasting change—not just quick fixes.
Whether we’re working on feeding, oral function, or breathing patterns, the goal is always the same: to build strong foundations so your child can thrive.
Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (a.k.a MYO)
Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (OMT) is a whole-body approach to supporting the proper function and development of the muscles of the face, mouth, and airway. It focuses on improving breathing, chewing, swallowing, and oral rest posture—helping the tongue, lips, and jaw work together the way they’re meant to. OMT can play a key role in addressing concerns like tongue ties, mouth breathing, speech challenges, feeding difficulties, and sleep-disordered breathing.
By addressing both the structure and function of the orofacial complex, OMT helps set the foundation for lifelong health and wellness.
CST/CFT
Craniosacral Fascial Therapy (CFT) is a gentle, hands-on approach that releases tension in the body’s fascia—the connective tissue that surrounds muscles, nerves, and organs. In infants, fascial restrictions can develop from birth, positioning in utero, or tension related to tongue ties, and these restrictions can impact feeding, sleep, digestion, and overall comfort.
CFT supports the natural movement between the brain, spinal cord, and fascia, helping the body unwind and return to balance. For babies, this can mean easier nursing or bottle feeding, improved tongue mobility, reduced body tension, and better sleep.
Because the fascia connects to the head, jaw, and airway, CFT plays an important role in orofacial development. When combined with other therapies, it helps create the best possible foundation for optimal oral function and growth.
Pre/Post Release Therapy
Releasing a tongue tie is more than a quick procedure—it’s a process that requires preparation and follow-up to ensure lasting results. Pre-release therapy focuses on building optimal tongue movement, oral muscle strength, and body awareness to ensure the release is as effective as possible. We prepare the tongue and surrounding muscles for the changes to come.
After the release, therapy continues to support proper healing, retraining of oral function, and integration into everyday activities like feeding, breathing, and swallowing. Without this functional component, restrictions can return or new challenges can emerge.
By addressing both the structure and the function, pre- and post-release therapy helps your child achieve the full benefits of their tongue tie release and supports long-term orofacial development.
Infant Feeding Support
Feeding your baby shouldn’t feel stressful or painful—for either of you. Infant feeding therapy is designed to support babies and their families through challenges with breastfeeding, bottle feeding, or transitioning between the two. Using a gentle, whole-body approach, I assess oral motor function, body tension, and reflexes that may be impacting your baby’s ability to feed effectively and comfortably.
I work closely with providers including International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs), and chiropractors to ensure your baby receives comprehensive, collaborative care. Together, we support latch, milk transfer, tongue function, and overall feeding success—meeting your family where you are, with compassion and clarity.
Whether you’re navigating feeding challenges related to tongue tie, reflux, slow weight gain, or general feeding concerns, you don’t have to go it alone. We're here to help.
